What is Chromadek?

Chromadek is a galvanized metal sheet with one surface coloured in either a frost white, polar white, black or yellow colour. Used extensively in signage and is the most durable, longest lasting method of advertising. Used for long term outdoor signs. It has a much longer lifetime than PVC, with greater strength. Can be cut and shaped to fit custom needs.

Do you offer lamination on your Chromadek signs?

Gloss or Matt Protective over-laminate (extends life of print 12-36 months, environmental conditions will vary results). Recommended where board can be touched, scratched, bumped etc. by people and objects.

How are the printed boards made ?

Our Chromadek signs are made of digitally printed vinyl that is applied onto a Chromadek sheet with the option to laminate the sign. Lamination can be done with either a transparent vinyl or a special lamination liquid. Transparent Vinyl lamination is costlier but with the added benefit that your lamination has a neater finish and will also protect your print from conditions for much longer.

In what sizes do the Chromadek signs come in?

Chromadek sheets are manufactured in a standard width of 1.225m and in unlimited lengths. Our most popular sizes are 2.450 x 1.225m and 1.850 x 0.925m. Our manufacturers supply us with these 2 standard sizes or in rolls of 1.225mm in width and 50m in length. The maximum sized boards we supply are 25m2 and the equivalent to 10m x 2.5m.

What types of vinyl film do you use to applicate on the sheets?

There are three types vinyl available for Chromadek Signs – these are: Polymeric, Monomeric or Cast Vinyl. The purpose and expected lifespan of a sign will dictate which of these are used.
